Starting and Completing the Challenge
TIP: This challenge can be useful to obtain combat axes for the Main Easter Egg
Head to the Backwater Lake area and head into the toolshed to the left of the cabin. There you will find a trophy on a shelf to the left of the entrance. Interact with it to spawn a combat axe stuck into the stump outside of the shed. Pickup this axe to start the challenge. If you already have a combat axe, the challenge will start when the trophy is interacted with.
Once you have interacted with the trophy and have combat axes, turn around and run straight across the road. There, you’ll see a floating, purple target. Hitting this target with an axe will break it and spawn another. Eventually the targets will begin to move. You need to keep hitting these targets until Mr. Peeks spawns and gives you rewards or the timer runs out.
If you miss your combat axes, there is a chance that they will be stuck outside of the map. During the duration of the challenge, your combat axes will recharge in your inventory after a few seconds.
Completing the challenge will grant you varying rewards, including perks, weapons, and Aether tools, based on performance. Doing poorly will result in no Mr. Peeks or rewards.
This easter egg can only be done once per game.
TIP: To hit the targets more often, try aiming a bit higher than center, increasing the height of your throw based on how high the target is in the air. For moving targets, you will need to lead them a bit in the direction they are moving.
This can take some practice, but eventually you’ll be hitting every target every time.
